Frequently Asked Questions

What are the 3 things I should know before using my virtual card?
  1. When using the card online, always be sure the purchase amount is less than the available balance on the card — if the card is processed for more than the available balance it will decline
  2. Check the card balance by accessing the original web link you used to initially access the virtual card in your browser
  3. You can access the Help Center for frequently asked questions regarding your virtual card as well as contact info for specific questions

Please return to the email or SMS message that you received to access the link to the Virtual Prepaid Card. Once you click on the link you will be returned to the card details page. You can use the details on that page to make a purchase online or you can add the card details to your mobile phone wallet (Apple Pay or Google Pay) to be used in stores where Tap to Pay is accepted.

How can I use my card toward a purchase that exceeds my card balance?

IN-STORE: If your purchase amount is more than your available balance, split the purchase into two transactions, if possible. Tell the cashier in advance the exact amount to deduct from the virtual card, then pay the remaining balance with a second form of payment. Please note, not all merchants are equipped to handle “split-tender” transactions.

ONLINE: Split-tender transactions are rare for online purchases. Contact the specific merchant directly for instructions on how to make a split tender purchase online.

  2. When applicable, simply tap to apply card funds towards your total

Is there a PIN attached to the Virtual Prepaid cards?
