SKUx owns an exclusive commercial agreement with Fintiv, Inc. to distribute payments and stored value to the mobile wallet. A flagship patent in the Fintiv portfolio is U.S. Patent No. 8,843,125, titled “System and method for conducting monetary transactions between a mobile phone and a card reader.” This patent essentially claims techniques for provisioning a contactless payment applet on a mobile device to conduct transactions with a point-of-sale reader—the core mechanism of mobile wallet value transfers, the likes of Apple Pay, Coinbase, etc.
